A Minister's Wife :
With Colleen !
- Welcome Friends ,
I am so excited and blessed in the new journey that God has brought our way . We have been praying for sometime that He would guide us in a new direction.
Though the electronic world is often seen as a negative thing , we believe it can and is used to share the love of God throughout the world.
It is my prayer that you will join me as I journey , sharing my life as a minister's wife.
I want to share life's experiences that I pray will help to encourage , offer hope and a knowledge that we are all in this together.
I want this page to one that you will look forward to as we share in the challenges of life. If it helps to understand that someone does " understand " what you are going through then this page will serve its prayerful purpose.
So, join me as we begin our journey .
Growing up children often talk about and dream of their desired profession. I can honestly tell you that to become a minister's wife was never my choice. All I ever wanted to do was to be a wife, mom and write books.
As the weeks go by I will share with you about my life before and since God..I will share with you from God's holy Word..
It is my desire that God will be glorified through my writings and that you find peace .
Until next time , may the peace of God bring you a calmness as you seek Him.
In His Love,
Journey with God
From the very beginning we were created to fellowship with God..All of these years later it is still His
desire for time with us. It is a journey of sorts : one that can grow as we seek Him through His Word. It is through His Word that we can do all things.
It is through His Word that He also reveals Himself to us . Any relationship takes some effort and as we put forth more effort in our relationship with God the more our lives will be transformed. It may not always be an easy journey but its end result is a life with the Creator , what more can one ask for.
In James 4:8 he tells us to " Draw near to God and He will draw near to you : " One of my favorites is
from Psalms 46:10 " Be still and know that I am God " . This one for me I equate to my role as mom and grandma.
I have had moments when I needed to talk with one of my children or grandchildren and they are so involved in
something else..Something that has their total attention so it would not benefit me to try and talk with them until
I have their full attention. This is the same with God..He wants ALL of our attention . Not just a quick second as we
are walking past.
Some of the most amazing moments in my walk with God have been through my " Quiet Time " . This was
seldom easy for me as a young mom with 3 children. However I soon learned that to be a better mom I must find
that time. He is not asking us for our entire day. He wants ALL of us for a period of time set aside just for Him and you and me. Setting aside this time you will discover growing intimacy with Him. Do you recall the last time you had " quiet time" with Him ? Such sweet moments waiting for us .
Use this time to " be still ", you maybe sweetly surprised as to what will happen . You will not be disappointed.
God's promises are always fulfilled ...ALWAYS !
Bible study during this time will change your life and for the better. I find that prayer before I begin makes
a huge difference. Did you know that all f us could read the same scripture and have many different view points ?
God reveals to each of us what is needed for our lives at that time. So, begin and ask Him to show you something
He wants for you . Then once you gain insights from this time be eager to practice them and this will strengthen your devotion to Him. Do not keep it all to yourself...share what you learn with those around you.
There are 2 things that never change for a Christian . One is people's needs and the second is the Bible's answers. The more things change the more we need to focus on the eternal and unchanging solutions of trusting and obeying God. And in this world today we need Him more than ever before.
So, are you keeping on track with your daily Quiet Time and Bible Study ? Psalms 1:2 tells us " but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he mediates day and night ".
Let's challenge one another to do better at our time with God . He wants our fellowship and we all need God
in our corners of life. Thank you for taking this journey with me..I am so excited about what God has planned and
what He can do when we let Him in totally. May you find peace of heart and joy of soul...
Until next time ,
In His Love ,
